This secure tiny door is named after the face on the $100 bill! It marks the site of the original Ostrander bank, where you can still find a much larger version of this vault door inside.

About the Location

1889 The Scioto Savings Bank was built on the northwest corner of Main Street. When the owner of the Scioto Savings Bank died, the community established the Ostrander Banking Company.

1906 The Ostrander Telephone Co was organized. Located on the second floor of the bank. It was later moved to the second house west of the Bank.

1909 Hitching posts were placed in front and on the side of the Bank.

1910 The Ostrander Banking Company purchased a safe.

1919 The Ostrander Banking Company was robbed and the safe destroyed. Replaced by a better safe.

1961 Delaware County Bank merged with the Ostrander Banking Company.

2017 Delaware County Bank was acquired by First Commonwealth Financial Corporation. The Ostrander branch was closed and the bank building was sold.

2025 The building became home to the Ostrander Rōst coffee shop.
