Tiny Door Trail

Find the doors. Discover the magic.

The Ostrandoors Tiny Door Trail is a whimsical art and exploration experience featuring a series of miniature doors hidden throughout the village of Ostrander, Ohio.

Each tiny door is thoughtfully designed to reflect its location. Some are charming mini replicas of the building’s real entrance, while others take a more imaginative approach—drawing inspiration from the history, purpose, or personality of their surroundings. Together, they create a playful blend of art, storytelling, and exploration.

The doors are located outdoors and are free to visit year-round, with one special door tucked inside the Ostrander Library. Printed trail guides are available at the library, and an interactive Google Map makes it easy to find each location. For maps, photos, and the latest updates, tiny door explorers can also follow along on the Ostrandoors Facebook page.

How To Find the Tiny Doors

🗺️ Use the map as a guide.
The Google Map will lead you to the general area of each door, but observant eyes discover the tiny details. The map points the way—the magic is in the noticing.

👀 Look closely & search gently.
All doors are placed near sidewalks, streets, or other public spaces. Tiny doors are hidden in plain sight, camouflaged only by their size. No digging, pulling, or poking—if it doesn’t appear through careful looking, it’s not meant to be found that way.

🔐 Most doors stay closed.
Only tiny residents can open most doors, so please don’t tug on knobs or windows. A few special doors along the trail have been unlocked for giants to peek inside—consider it a rare honor.

🎁 Take memories, leave gifts.
Snap photos to remember your adventure, and if you like, leave a small, weather-friendly trinket for the tiny residents. Keep it tiny, safe, and magical—no food or anything that could harm the surroundings.

🛠️ The Tiny Maintenance Crew needs your help!
If you find a tiny door in disarray or in need of a little care, let us know! Send a message on Facebook or through our website contact page so the tiny residents can keep their homes neat and magical.

📱 Share the magic!
Post your pictures on social media or leave a review—we love hearing about your tiny door adventures!

Four of us middle- aged women just came back from doing this treasure hunt. We had a great time! We walked about 2.5 miles around around town and only found 21 of the doors. Some of them were hard to find, some of them caught our eyes rather easily when we realize where to start looking. A couple of them the map said that we were at the right spots but we could not find them anywhere. And then there were some that you would have to drive to that we didn't go to. Seeing the pictures of doors that have been posted on facebook, I want to go back and find the other 20! This was just a great time, on a warm afternoon, for a fun adventure. We did stop at the library first to get a map and to check out the two that were there, and the Librarians were very helpful and friendly! That is also where we left our car parked.

It is a real fun activity especially with children. There are 40 little cute doors around the town and it was really exciting to find them! I got the map that shows where the doors are from the library and I could also use google map to find doors. It’s fun to find doors in random places and also nice to look around the town! I didnt have enough time so I couldn’t find all the doors but it was such a wonderful experience for me and my child. I would love to try again if I have a chance. Highly recommended!!

If you want something to do over the weekend, this is the adventure for you!! Pick up a Little Door Map at the Ostrander, Ohio library and start looking everywhere in the community for little doors. All you have to go on is a photo of the door and its name- its challenging and I thought at times impossible, but we found every single door by the end of the day. It was really a fun day- just something different!!

Strange but so cool... The "town" was very quiet. The library staff was so sweet and patient explaining to us what to do. I didn't have my kids along, but they would have enjoyed it. So cool to see a town pull together to do something fun for even others outside of the community. What a great idea and family activity! Wish more little towns would do this!
